The first time I hopped on my new Don Walker track bike was a couple hours before racing started at The Trinidad and Tobago Cycling Festival. I was a bit nervous hopping on a new bike so close to a start of an international cycling event, but the thing was like an expertly tailored suit. The bike fit perfectly! Each pedal stroke felt natural and any nerves were quickly washed away by my confidence on my new Don Walker. My enthusiasm for the bike just continued to grow once the racing actually began. With guys like Walter Perez, Franco Marvulli, and Leif Lampater on the start line, the racing was fast from the gun. The bike rode like a champion though. The oversized seat tube and beefy seat stays made the frame incredibly responsive and stiff which gave me full confidence coming into each sprint. Once the evening’s races had wrapped up, it felt like I had been on the bike for years. Between the great ride characteristics of my Don Walker and the sharp looks, I couldn’t picture myself on another track bike.
